Laughter Is The Best Medicine

Laughter is the best medicine! Imagine laughing in the face of fear! How would it affect your enemy? This reminds me of Harvey Specter’s famous dialogue in the series ‘Suits’ – “What are your choices when someone puts a gun to your head? You take the gun, or you pull out a bigger one, Or you call their bluff, or you do any of a hundred and forty-six other things?

Talking about myself, I would probably freak out and forget all the gutsy talk I must’ve fed my mind with zillions of times for situations like these.

But, here we are not talking about ‘someone else pointing the gun’ but your own gun pointing back at you. Your own mistakes, your own failures, and your very own good intentions backfired. And that is surely no laughing matter.

Once again, mere gutsy talk won’t help. It’s time to act, time to gear up for challenges, stand up for yourself and not let your situation or your apprehensions trample you along the way.

Why Laughter Is The Best Medicine?

Laughing In The Face Of Fear (Why)

Creative work necessitates being vulnerable, devoted, adaptable, and bold, and this necessitates a mindset that can easily dismiss distractions or negative impulses while focusing our hearts and brains on what matters. It’s a difficult balancing act to master.

And never forget that ‘Laughing’ is the privilege of man. Not only that we laugh at all, but also what we laugh about is a matter of great significance. It is one of the things that serve man as a relaxation only in the gravity of life. That’s the reason they say that laughter is the best medicine.

I have landed in perilous situations numerous times in my personal and professional life. Laughing in the face of fear was the last thing I could’ve considered at that point in time. However, as time gifted me with wisdom and maturity, I taught myself the essential skill of staying calm and waiting for the storm to pass because someone had once said – All things, good or bad, must pass.

Considering that laughter is the best medicine, I hasten to laugh at everything. You laugh at something funny or something that makes you happy. What you could now try is laughing in the face of fear. Laugh rather than die in fear or grief.
